Drake’s luxurious and pricey Toronto mansion retreat!
We saw a lot more of the Grammy Award winner’s home (and his real trophies, because they are all proudly lined up at the beginning of the song video), since it was used as the setting for one of the rapper’s videos, Toosie Slide.
The custom-built home, with each room drawing our attention for very different reasons, is the inadvertent star of Drake’s viral hit.
Everything in Drake’s home appears to have a backstory, and we’d love to hear it. The Kobe jerseys on display, the whole collection of honors in the trophy room, and the picture of Mao by Andy Warhol that is unassumingly sitting in the background are just a few examples. We’ll be content to see them for a little moment till then.
Drake has been keeping us fascinated on Instagram with little photos from the building site ever since he purchased a two-acre parcel of property in Toronto’s opulent Bridle Path area back in 2016 and unveiled plans for a palace-like house to call home.
Champagne Papi didn’t hesitate to give his admirers a tour of the lavish property when the enormous 35,000-square-foot manse was finally completed.
Drake, a Canadian-born musician, made sure that no unwelcome visitors get to view inside the property by creating 4.4-meter high walls (twice the maximum height permitted for the region, but he convinced the city to make an exception). Naturally, said tour took place on Drake’s Instagram page.
Drake had grand ideas for the Bridle Path property, and he quickly began carrying them out as his opulent 35,000 square foot mansion began to take form. Champagne Papi is a sharer, so he often kept us informed on the development by posting videos of the building projects on Instagram.
Fortunately, he continued to share even after the house was built. The 34-year-old musician decided to bring the experts in for an official tour after seeing the home in a few Instagram posts. He also invited Architectural Digest in for a picture shoot.
He displayed his large living area, which had a raging fireplace and a towering mirror that was suspended above it. Here, enormous chandeliers reach the high ceilings, and one of the rooms has a grand piano tucked away in the corner.
