How many luxury mansions does Dr. Dre own in California?
The roughly 9,000 square foot estate was bought by the rapper and co-founder of Beats Electronics in 2000 for around $4.8M, according to Dirt. The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home has increased in value significantly over the last 22 years, and the record producer seems set to profit handsomely from its sale.
Nicole Young, the ex-wife of the Compton-born billionaire, resided at the three-story “contemporary beach estate” in the exclusive Carbon Beach neighborhood during the protracted divorce between the pair. After more than 20 years of marriage, the couple divorced in December of last year. According to Page Six at the time, the “Still D.R.E.” songwriter paid his ex $100M as part of a significant settlement that stipulated Dre would maintain the couple’s real estate holdings, the rights to his songs, and stock options.
The residence is situated on a 7,000 square foot land that may be entered via a private courtyard with a gate. It has “soaring ceilings and walls of glass,” plenty of natural light, breathtaking ocean views from every level, and “the perfect open floor plan for large-scale entertaining or intimate relaxed evenings watching the sunset on the coast.”
The top floor’s carpeted main suite features a fireplace, an en suite “spa-like bath” with an oversized tub and a sauna, and it also has a fireplace. Additionally, pictures show a recording studio, a gym, two ocean-facing balconies, a ton of outdoor space, at least one fireplace, a spacious kitchen, and a stairway that leads to the beach.
