He has reportedly purchased two penthouse units at the prestigious Eldorado tower for a total of $24.5 мιllιon.
These penthouses are situated within one of the iconic twin towers of the Eldorado, a renowned Art Deco landmark located at 300 Central Park West. The duplex penthouse boasts four terraces, offering stunning views of the city. The initial listing price for this penthouse was $29 million, but it appears Masiyiwa was able to secure the units at a slightly lower price.
Strive Masiyiwa’s investment in such prime real estate underscores his stature as a prominent business figure and his interest in luxury properties in one of the most exclusive areas of New York City.
The apartment on the 29th floor boasts a private landing for exclusive access. This spacious unit comprises four en-suite bedrooms, including a separate one-bedroom unit with a corner living room featuring an original fireplace and a windowed kitchen. Additionally, there is a separate maid’s room for added convenience.
Originally, the lower level on the 29th floor was designed as an apartment with three bedrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, a small library, and two maids’ rooms. Over time, it was reconfigured into its current layout while retaining many of its original details, such as oak herringbone floors, ornate bathroom tiles, and a unique seven-head shower in the corner master bedroom suite.
The upper level, which is not accessible by elevator, once served as a communal club for early Eldorado tenants. It still features an oversized fireplace and 1920s terra-cotta floor tiles, preserving the historic charm of the building.
The sellers of this remarkable apartment were Dr. John W. Rowe and his wife, Valerie Rowe, who have owned the property since 1989. Their long-standing ownership adds to the history and character of the unit within the Eldorado tower.
