Brian Shaw spent a large amount of money to own Chef Nikki Shaw’s expensive villa after many negotiations

Previously owned by NBA player-turned-coach Brian Shaw and celebrity chef Nikki Shaw, this magnificent California property is currently on the market for $7.895M. The spectacular 9,220 square foot home is located in Oakland, California, and features a seamless open concept that merges indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as breathtaking views of the Bay Area. Coldwell Banker Realty’s Peter Monroe is the listing agent.

If it sells for anything near the asking amount, it will be the most expensive East Bay single-family home transaction since a $20M sale on the Oakland-Berkeley border in 2016, as reported by The Real Deal. This one-story residence in the Ridgemont Hills sits on a spacious 3-acre site and is hidden behind elegant metal gates. As can be seen in the photographs, it has a circular driveway and uses solar panels on the roof to generate electricity.

This architectural masterpiece, which has been called “non-traditional but practically designed,” is suitable for both large and small groups. In addition, the property’s unparalleled 180-degree vistas include not one but five major bridges. The Shaws completed their custom-built home in 2003. The couple bought the property in 2001, but they haven’t said how much they paid for it. The Shaws have decided to sell their beloved house of twenty years.

Nikki Shaw, who competed in the third season of “The Next Food Network Star,” is well-known for her culinary skills and has worked with prestigious organizations such as the American Heart Association and the Golden State Warriors. She has even used the updated kitchen (completed just last year) to shoot cooking demonstrations for Cuisine Noir. As can be seen in the images, the kitchen features a large island with seating for six, a double refrigerator, plenty of storage space, and a comfy breakfast nook.

The main living space flows out onto a terrace with an outdoor kitchen and pizza oven, ideal for hosting dinners and parties in the fresh air. Five bedrooms and five bathrooms can be found inside the home, with the master suite featuring its own private patio, fireplace, and bathroom with a soaking tub and separate shower (as seen in the listing photos).

There is also a dog kennel, a basketball court, a video gaming room, an indoor swimming pool, a spa, and a home office. Oakland native and current Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach Brian Shaw played in the NBA for 14 years. He started with the Celtics and finished with the Lakers, where he won three championships. Monroe was not immediately reachable for comment.
