Close-up of the second most expensive villa in the US of Beyoncé and Jay-Z
According to reports, Beyoncé and Jay-Z just purchased a home that would break the heart of any admirer of design due to its price, size, and illustrious architectural history.
According to TMZ, the couple spent $200 мillio𝚗 on a lavish estate situated among the star-studded cliffs in Malibu, California, and created by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Tadao Ando. The home is oriented toward the ocean and is made up mostly of concrete.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the 30,000-square-foot compound, which is made up of a series of low-slung glass and concrete volumes (Ando’s signature material), was initially created for the renowned art collector and Jeff Koons enthusiast William Bell, who bought the property in 2003. However, the building wasn’t finished until 2014.
A look at the enormous outside deck. The residence was first constructed to display William Bell’s art collection.
The residences were constructed in cooperation with award-winning architect (and protégé) Kulapat Yantrasast, who heads the firm WHY out of New York and Los Angeles. Ando also designed Kanye West’s oceanfront property in Malibu.
The mansion is not only the priciest house ever bought in California history, but it is also the second-most expensive house ever sold in the country. The most expensive house ever sold in the US is a $238 мillio𝚗 Manhattan penthouse that sold in 2019. Beyoncé and Jay-Z also own an 88 мillio𝚗 dollar estate in Bel Air, but it’s not known if they plan to keep the equally modern home.
