The Wall Street Journal says that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have finally found a buyer for their Miami home after nearly seven months on the market and a $2 million price cut. The house, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, was purchased by the musician and the Game of Thrones actor for $11 million in September 2021.
A little over a year later, they put it back on the market for just under $17 million. The beachfront home, which is 10,414 square feet, didn’t find any buyers, though, until the couple reduced the asking price. Carl Gambino of Compass represented the music sensation and actor, while David Pullman of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
The 1980-built property is situated in Bay Point, a posh private neighborhood next to Biscayne Bay, and its boxy exterior is decorated with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, rock, and wood in midcentury design. The manse, which has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, has coral rock walls, beamed ceilings, and hardwood flooring in a variety of colors. According to Pullman, the house has an amazing “Cali meets Bali vibe.” “Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, but with a tropical twist.”
According to Sarah Ivory, who worked on the renovation, Jonas wanted the room to have a “classic ’70s meets modern tropicalism” feel. Interior water elements, such as a koi pond bordering a spiraling glass staircase in the living room, were changed into lush gardens full of tropical plants to assist accomplish that look.
30-foot ceilings, a two-story double-sided travertine fireplace shared with the adjacent billiards room, and glass walls that look out onto the private, hedge-enclosed yard with its several pools, hot tub, and outdoor kitchen all distinguish the open-plan main living area. In addition, there are covered balconies, a private staff entry, a 94-foot private dock with access to the bay, and a double-sided full-service bar for indoor or outdoor parties.
