“Fast & Furious” star Jason Statham owns the only villa made entirely of glass in the world with an outdoor swimming pool

Although he usually portrays gruff characters on screen, Jason Statham makes his house a relaxing retreat.

Everything in the United Kingdom consists of teeny, cozy chambers with fireplaces. To quote the British actor, “Every house looks the same—they’re all red brick—and they’re very different to California midcentury architecture,” from a recent story of one of his Los Angeles houses on ArchDigest.com.

“So, [here] when you get floor-to-ceiling glass and it connects the indoors with the outdoors, it’s almost like this free-flowing connection,” said the architect. “There’s just something very Zen-like, and it gives you a certain sense of relaxation.”

Stars like Statham, who live in the public spotlight, are often thought to avoid living in very visible mansions, but the Fast & Furious actor has said that this is not the case.

He told the magazine, “Put me in a glass box and I’ll be very happy.” “There’s just something really appealing about the symmetry and openness of things.”

The Expendables star boasted that he has a talent for discovering houses that he can gut and make his own, and he proudly displayed his newly remodeled home, complete with cedar wood ceilings and large windows.

“I’m always looking for places to either renovate or buy, to move up the ladder,” Statham said to the media. This one seemed to come out of nowhere, yet it was endearing in its own way. It had fallen on hard times and been ignored, as do many of the midcentury varieties.

The actor said it wasn’t a cheap remodel, but the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home now oozes modern, minimalist elegance.

There was never a strict plan for how much money I spent. As a result, “it became quite an indulgent year,” as Statham put it, with all the finishes becoming extremely pricey. A new construction would have been simpler in certain ways. While renovating, however, we were able to take cues from the house’s original charms, such as the butterfly ceiling and the drop-down that allows the cedar ceiling to extend from inside the house to the overhangs. We probably wouldn’t have done those things if we’d planned it out beforehand.

The gym, which has a unique ceiling to handle his heavy bags, gymnastic rings, and other gym equipment, “puts Equinox to shame,” according to the journal.

It also has a door leading to the patio, where Statham set up a sauna and an ice bathing station complete with a Hoshiazaki ice maker and an immersion tub made of stainless steel.

“People don’t like to think about getting into a tub of ice,” according to him. But the payoffs are enormous. It’s becoming a common method of exercise these days.

While Statham lives with Rosie Huntington Whitely, 32, and their son, Jack, 2, in a different home, this one serves as a guest house for all of his British friends and family who go “en masse” to visit him.

He just listed the house for sale in an effort to move on to other things.

“It’s the one thing that keeps me going: property, architecture and interior design,” remarked the performer. I’m always searching for new opportunities to contribute to. It’s in our nature to welcome novelty, I believe. Change is a positive thing.

Even his most recent work, a breezy Malibu beach house where he “connects with nature,” was highlighted there.
