Kyrie Irving gave his wife an expensive mansion to thank her for giving birth to his child

Geraldine Gilliland, a chef and cookbook author, sold her Malibu mountain property for $18 miℓℓio𝚗 more than a year after it was listed. Drederick Irving, the father of Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving, paid $10.7 miℓℓio𝚗 for the property, $7.4 miℓℓio𝚗 less than the initial asking price.

Gilliland, owner of Santa Monica’s Lula Cocina Mexicana restaurant, purchased “Rancho Chiquita” over 20 years ago and expanded her land holdings.

The 40-acre property has been used as a wedding and party venue, a filming site for “The Voice,” and a nonprofit dog rescue. The gated estate features a hacienda-style main home and detached guesthouse on 225 acres with ocean and mountain views.

The stucco and terracotta-roof main house has almost 6,700 square feet of two-level living area with wood-beam ceilings, Saltillo tile and hardwood flooring, arched doorways, and clerestory windows.

The main level features a fireplace-side living room, formal dining room, gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, an eat-in island with wine storage, high-end stainless appliances, a walk-in pantry, and breakfast nook.

All of bedrooms are sequestered in two separate wings of the house — one spotlighted by an ocean-view master retreat, which comes complete with a custom fireplace, private patio, spacious cedar-lined walk-in closet,

separate fireside sitting room, loft space, and luxe bath that opens to a terrace with a spa — and the other holding two main-level bedrooms with access to an outdoor palapa, and a lower-level staff/guest suite with two bedrooms, an office, living room and kitchenette.

The magnificent grounds include an infinity-edge pool and Jacuzzi, kitchen and bar, and many outdoor sitting and gathering areas, including a 250-person lawn. A second gated service entry leads to a big motor court, event staging, a three-car garage, and at least 20 parking spaces.
