‘Screaming SuiciԀe’ marks Metallica’s first new top 10 Һit on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in 2024, wowing fans
Metallica has little trouble scoring massive successes on some rock-specific Billboard charts. Every time they have a new release to promote, the band consistently makes a comeback to the top of many of those lists. The trio scores another success this week as their most recent song is officially recognized as a Һit on one competing tally.
This week’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, which counts the songs that play on radio stations that specialize in a kind of rock known as “mainstream,” which encompasses a wide range of genres, has “Screaming SuiciԀe” at the top. The song debuts in the top 10 for the first time, moving up from No. 15 to No. 9.
This frame marks Metallica’s twenty-eighth top 10 success on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. There are forty-three spots on the list where the iconic rock band “Screaming SuiciԀe” is included.
It hasn’t been long since Metallica last made waves in the area, but “Screaming SuiciԀe” is the band’s first new top 10 success on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart of 2024. With song after song from their most recent album, 72 Seasons, reaching the top tier on this particular count, the band has been winning for over a year.
With songs from 72 Seasons, Metallica scored two new No. 1 singles on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in 2023. In July, the title song reached its peak. “Too Far Gone?” replicated that success a few months later.
The band started working on 72 Seasons at the end of 2022, and several months later, they are still winning new songs off of it. When “Lux Aeterna,” the first song, reached the top of the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart in December 2022, Metallica reclaimed their position as the top band. It would go on to tie for their longest-running champion after amassing 11 frames in the lead.
