Linkin Park earns their first diamond single with ‘In The End’
Over two decades have passed since Linkin Park emerged from the shadows to become one of the world’s most prominent rock bands. The band’s popularity has remained steady ever since, despite the passing of lead vocalist and leader Chester Bennington. The rockers now have even more cause to rejoice, since they were just bestowed with one of the highest accolades available to American musicians.
The song “In the End” by Linkin Park has been officially recognized as a diamond in the United States. The honor was revealed on Tuesday (February 27) by the Recording Industry Association of America, or RIAA. The RIAA is the body that certifies when songs have met particular sales and consumption benchmarks.
Once a song or album has sold at least 10 million equivalent copies in the United States, the RIAA certifies it as a diamond record. Typically, such amount consists of both streaming equivalents and pure sales.
