Tye, son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, just took over as Korn’s newest bassist at just 12 years old
The bass guitar and the apple don’t fall that far apart.
Bassist Robert Trujillo of Metallica must have a strong musical heritage and a general badass attitude since his 12-year-old son Tye just secured a slot filling in for one of the biggest metal groups of the last 20 years, Korn.
Fieldy’s trademark in-the-pocket groove will be covered by Tye Trujillo for Korn’s shows in Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru.
Even though the 12-year-old is the son of a rock star, you may be skeptical of his ability to perform live in front of hundreds of thousands of fans. The little shredder’s rendition of Black Sabbath’s “N.I.B.” bass line is sure to eliminate any doubts you may have, however. Simply await the wah.
And don’t worry if you’re a fan of Fieldy. He’ll resume playing with the group at Carolina Rebellion on May 6.
