Jason Newsted is bidding farewell to his Walnut Creek, CA, residence, listing his modern farmhouse in the Bay Area for $2.89 million. The former Metallica member’s five-bedroom home boasts custom updates that appeal to all, not just heavy metal enthusiasts.

 

The interior of the spacious home features hardwood floors, designer fixtures, and custom moldings, complemented by bold hues and floral motifs. The recently renovated kitchen showcases vibrant Moroccan tile and high-end Elise appliances, opening to a casual dining nook overlooking the patio. Additionally, the 6,720-square-foot residence includes a living room, formal dining room, and family room.

The master suite on the upper level boasts a balcony, fireplace, and updated bathroom, while the third floor offers a versatile bonus room suitable for an office, workout space, or media room. A finished basement on the lower level completes the layout.

Outside, the yard is ideal for entertaining, featuring a patio, wraparound porch, spacious lawn, and a dog run. A studio above the detached, three-car garage offers additional space for various purposes.

Newsted, a prominent figure in the Bay Area metal music scene, served as Metallica’s bassist from 1986 to 2001. Following his departure from the band, he continued his musical journey with Echobrain, Ozzy Osbourne, Voivod, and his own band, Newsted, from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, the 56-year-old musician is the founder of Chophouse Records studio and label.
