Kendrick Lamar and Drake have an endless war – But Kendrick Lamar will probably win when it comes to real estate with a mansion that can accommodate 10 cars
Kendrick Lamar lived in Manhattan Beach for years. Three years ago, the rapper and singer acquired a new property two blocks from the sandy beach and deep blue water after years of renting. He recently bought a traditional Bel Air home in East Gate.
Records rеvеal Lamar paid $15.9 miℓℓio𝚗 for his new home, nearly the seller’s asking price. The creamy wood and brick-accented structure, designed by noted L.A. architect Edward Fickett, has a main house and two-story guesthouse with seven bedrooms and eight baths in just over 8,000 square feet.
Lamar’s new home, hidden behind walls and gates on a roughly three-quarter-acre level lot, features a two-car garage and side parking for up to eight cars. A prior rental listing shows a large living/dining area with hardwood flooring, a brick fireplace, and a covered patio.
An atrium-like family area leads to a modern kitchen with an eat-in island, high-end stainless equipment, a butler’s pantry, and a breakfast room. The master retreat, down a long hallway, contains a fireside sitting room, a big bath with dual vanity and a clawfoot soaking tub, an office/library, a movie theater, wine cellar, and gym.
The verdant, walled grounds have a pool, spa, sundeck, koi pond, and al fresco dining area. The guesthouse has a living/dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bath, laundry area, and two bedrooms and a bath upstairs.
Lamar has had a remarkable 20-year music career. The 35-year-old Compton native won 14 Grammys out of 39 nominations, received a Pulitzer Prize for “D.A.M.N.”, the first nonclassical or jazz recording to do so, and performed in a hip hop-themed Տᴜper Bowl halftime show earlier this year.
Lamar also has a Calabasas home where various family members have lived.
