Dave Mustaine, on his 58th birthday, offered insights into his perspective on the relationship between Megadeth and Metallica. While he initially stated that there’s no competition between the two bands, his subsequent comments revealed lingering grievances.

In an interview with Guitar World, Mustaine asserted that Megadeth has exhibited more consistency over the years compared to Metallica. He highlighted his instrumental role in Metallica’s early success, claiming that his compositions provided them with a significant advantage. Mustaine also accused Metallica of attempting to unԀermine his credibility as a guitarist, despite his substantial contributions to their early material.

Acknowledging his writing credits on several Metallica records, Mustaine emphasized the contentious history between him and the band, including disputes over songwriting credits. He cited instances where projects involving him and Metallica were scrapped due to disagreements over credits.
