Metallica’s Helping Hands Concert and Auction raised a record amount for charity during its 2024 iteration, the band announced.
Metallica has reached a new milestone in its philanthropic endeavors, raising a record amount for charity during its most recent benefit concert.
The Bay Area metal band announced that last year’s iteration of its annual Helping Hands Concert and Auction, which supports its nonprofit philanthropic organization All Within My Hands, has set a new record by raising more than $3.5 million.
“These funds will empower @allwithinmyhandsfoundation to make a sustainable difference in the areas of workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services,” the band posted to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 30, while announcing the achievement.
The foundation was launched in 2017 as a way to give back to the communities that have supported it. Since then, All Within My Hands has raised more than $15 million to support disaster relief efforts, educational grants and programs combating food insecurity.
A few weeks ago, All Within My Hands pledged $500,000 to aid the recovery process in the wake of the Los Angeles fires. The funds were to support the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund.
