Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish both cried when Beyoncé won the Album of the Year award

Beyoncé finally claimed the coveted Album of the Year award for her album “Cowboy Carter” at Sunday’s Grammys.

The superstar, renowned as the most awarded and nominated artist in Grammy history, had previously been nominated for this category four times, often feeling overlooked for the top honor.

With her win for “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé has made history as the first Black woman to receive this prestigious award in the 21st century, following Lauryn Hill’s victory with “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” 26 years ago. Prior to her, Natalie Cole and Whitney Houston also held this distinction, making Beyoncé only the fourth Black woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys.

During the ceremony, members of the Los Angeles Fire Department presented Beyoncé with the trophy, highlighting the ongoing impact of recent wildfires that affected thousands of homes.
