The 52-year-old rapper shared a statement on Instagram on Saturday, June 15, marking 27 years of marriage to his manager and wife, Shante Broadus.

Snoop tagged Broadus in the caption of the set of photos, which read “#TwentySeven.” Broadus shared the same photos on her own Instagram with a similar comment.

The couple wore matching sets of pink and white sweatsuits in the casual photos they submitted. The hero of the Garfield movie wrapped his arm around Broadus, who was wearing a bright blue cross-body purse in both pictures.

In 1989, while still teenagers, the couple met at California’s Long Beach Polytechnic High School and went to prom together. In June 1997, they were married at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, California.

Snoop and Broadus have three children together: a 24-year-old daughter named Cori and two 29- and 27-year-old sons named Cordé and Cordell. The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” singer and Laurie Helmond have a 25-year-old son named Julian.

Broadus and the Training Day star became grandparents when Cordé welcomed the star’s daughter Elleven and boys Zion and Leo into the world. In 2019, Cordé’s late son Kai Love died at the age of 10 days.

After a brief separation in 2004, Broadus and Snoop got back together in 2008.

In 2007, the musician told PEOPLE about their reconciliation. “I thought I was the man, and I was willing to give up what I had at home for that until I realized that what I had at home was irreplaceable.”

The rapper of “Young, Wild & Free” stated on Today in 2023 that “I think because we were both young and we were both willing to sacrifice for each other” is why their marriage has lasted.

He continued by saying, “She was aware of my aspirations and objectives, and I was also aware of hers.”

“I feel like that was true love at first sight,” he added, adding that there is nothing you can do to end a relationship when you truly love someone.

In 2024, Snoop said that he turned down a potential $100 million deal with Only Fans to safeguard Broadus on the Double S Express Instagram Live series Wake & Bake.

When I asked him about his decision, he replied, “I’m like, I got a Black wife.” “There is absolutely no chance that she will let me go on there and do that for no money at all.”
